Process and Quality

  • Lead in the development of IVC standard staging documents
  • Supervise and mentor IVC staff and freelance technical staff both in the pre-production and on-site phases of events
  • Research and report to IVC staff new developments in technology that can support more innovative and strategic solutions for IVC projects
  • Develop and teach internal classes on technical aspects of production
  • Increase the level of technical service and overall technical quality of IVC productions
  • Consult with IT on all technical installations at IVC used for staff or client presentations and assist in training staff on their operation

Vendor Management

  • Develop and maintain relationships with a wide variety of technical resources providing the highest quality services domestically and internationally
  • Create and maintain technical resources library available for all InVision staff
  • Expand database of approved technical staging vendors (US & International)
  • Expand database of approved freelance technical directors and  staging talent
  • Work with all technical vendors to ensure compliance with IVC standard

Proposals and Projects

  • Collaborate with account managers, event and media producers, strategic and creative resources, art directors and scenic designers to determine the most effective technical solutions to deliver against project parameters
  • Help identify best possible technical vendors and tools for projects as required
  • Help determine preliminary cost estimates for staging and technical elements for selected projects
  • Prepare technical RFPs and send to selected vendors as required
  • Analyze vendor bids and help in vendor selection and negotiations as required
  • Conduct or oversee site surveys on selected projects
  • Review post-production billing with producers as required
  • Participate in post cons with client and internal team as required

Office Responsibilities

  • Input and maintain data in project management and accounting systems
  • Share knowledge and serve as a mentor to Production Support team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Technical knowledge of all audio, video, projection, lighting, and other technical production tools
  • Must have strong VectorWorks skills and strong knowledge in other 3D and CAD based software platforms

HOURS:  The normal office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (40 hours per week).  However, due to the nature and the scope of this position the days and hours may fluctuate.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Ability to perform job duties that may include an average amount of lifting (+ or – 25lbs.), sitting, bending, stooping and standing is required.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Heavy travel is associated with this position.  Travel for IVC related business is reimbursable at the amount allotted under state & federal guidelines.  An expense sheet must be submitted for reimbursement.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:  This position requires a minimum of 10 years of technical production experience at a high level and successful on-site delivery of completed projects.  Must have extensive network of staging contacts and production resources for national and international event production.
